Purebred Montbeliarde
Montbeliarde Australia Pty Ltd is a partnership between Dom and Jo Bayard and Chris McIlroy. This partnership brings a lifetime of cattle industry involvement to focus on the development of Montbeliardes in Australia. Whilst semen from the breed has been available to Australian cattle breeders for some time, Montbeliarde Australia has taken the next step and now has purebred females and bulls. We believe that at this time we are the only breeders of purebred Montbeliarde in Australia.

An exciting opportunity for the Australian dairy cattle industry is what drew us to the Montbeliarde. A long established French breed, the Montbeliarde is capable of adding many positive traits to dairy cattle in Australia. Renowned for their high fertility, low incidence of mastitis, high fat and protein % ratio, long productive life and a high proportion of the B variant of Kappa Casein, they offer a real option in Australia.

Our Cattle
Our Montbeliardes are the result of embryos imported from France over the last couple of years. At this point of time we are about to begin embryo transfer on our heifers in order to increase our numbers. We also have more pregnancies from imported embryos due to calve in late July 2011.
